M.IQ — Strategic fit first. Compensation follows.

M.IQ (Manufacturing Intelligence) is Gemixx’s operator-backed consulting practice for brands manufacturing in India — strategy, costing, vendor development, quality, compliance, and scale. We don't charge a commission on your goods, and we don't lead with a price. Every engagement starts with an honest conversation about whether we can genuinely move your business — and only once there's a fit do we talk about how we're paid.

How We're Compensated

Three models. Nothing hidden.

Which one applies depends on your needs — not on what earns us the most. We tell you up front which it is.

1. Network Utilization PRIMARY MODEL

When our own factory network is the right fit, we're compensated simply through its utilization. You pay the factory directly — no commission on your orders, no middleman markup. Incentives are aligned from day one. Think of it like AWS: infrastructure we built to run our own operations, opened up for you to build on.

2. Service Fees

When your needs fall outside our network, we work on scoped, milestone-based fees agreed in writing up front. No large upfront retainer, and no lock-in until we've shown real value. You always know what you're paying for and why.

3. Equity Participation

Rare, and reserved for brands we're deeply aligned with over the long term. Equity is always something we raise — never something a brand requests to secure our help — and it's discussed late in a relationship, never early.

Straight Answers

Questions we hear most.

A sourcing agent earns a commission on every order, so their incentive is volume. We're operators who run our own factories, and we take no commission on your goods. Our advice is the same whether you order more or less — it's about building the right thing, not moving more units.
Possibly. We work with serious early founders as readily as with established brands. What matters is seriousness about the craft and a willingness to build for the long term — not your current revenue. Send us a request and we'll tell you honestly.
Houseware, barware, flatware, ceramics, brass & copper, home décor and FMCG-adjacent products — spanning our owned specialties in metalware, ceramics, glass, carved wood and marble across five cities of India. If your product falls outside that, we'll say so and can still help on a service-fee basis.
Almost always a Strategic Diagnostic: a focused two-to-four-week review of your manufacturing reality, margin architecture and operational risk, delivered as a written brief with clear recommendations. It stands on its own — you're under no obligation to continue.
Discretion is fundamental to how we work. We operate under NDA from the first substantive conversation, we never compete with our clients at retail, and we don't share your product, margins or roadmap with anyone. Many of the brands we work with prefer we never name them — and we don't.
Late, if ever. Equity is rare and only makes sense once there's deep, proven alignment over time. It's always something we raise — never a condition of working with us — and it never comes up at the start of a relationship.
Yes — in fact, fixing and scaling existing operations is the most common reason brands come to us. We don't require you to move production to our network. We can diagnose and strengthen what you already have: quality systems, margin structure, vendor relationships and readiness to scale.
