Beaded lamp shades for retailers, brands and hotels

A beaded lamp shade is a frame hung with strands of beads that colour and soften the light behind it. We develop beaded lampshades to order and string them by hand in India for retailers, brands, designers and hotels: pendant drums, table shades and small sconce shades. The shades below are 2027 designs to develop and sample, not stock. Every shade in our 2027 range shares a colour story with a curtain, valance or wall hanging, so a room can be built from one palette.

Beaded pendant shades

A beaded pendant shade makes the strongest statement. The Have a Nice Glow Pendant hangs 120 strands of marigold pony glass, honey bicones and butter-yellow wood rondelles, each ending in an amber pressed-glass flower at its own length. The Candy Drum Pendant gathers yellow and cobalt millefiori in clear glass above a hem of cherry-red beads.

Table shades: drum and empire

A table shade is seen at eye level, so pattern matters more than drop. The Ripple Drum alternates cream and lagoon ovals so the drum wears horizontal rings, breaking into a wavy scallop of mint millefiori flowers. The Daisy Daydream empire shade mixes cream tile beads and marigold pony glass, finished by a ring of yellow lampwork flowers.

Beaded sconce shades and mini shades

A beaded sconce shade is small, light and easy to sell as an add-on. The Bedside Sconce is a mini drum of frosted pink hearts over a scalloped hem; the Lollipop Sconce is a mini empire of clear bicones and lime crackle glass with cherry-red beads round the bottom ring. Each scales down a pendant from its collection.

Fringe and hem options

Hems can be straight, scalloped or staggered, or a beaded fringe lamp shade can let its strands fall well below the frame, as on the 50 cm Blossom Fringe Pendant. With luster beads, that long glass fringe gives a vintage beaded lamp shade look.

Glass bead choices

Most shades are all glass: pony beads, faceted bicones, frosted hearts, AB luster, crackle, millefiori and pressed-glass flowers, with plain glass beads available from our own furnaces. Injection-moulded acrylic, dyed to colour, could make a lighter shade. Wood rondelles add warmth.

How the strands hang on the frame

In our 2027 designs, on an open drum each strand is fixed to the top ring and falls free, so strand length sets the hem. On empire and tapered shades, strands run from the top ring to a wider bottom ring, which holds the slope. Strand count runs from 36 on the Lollipop Sconce to 120 on the Have a Nice Glow Pendant, spaced so beads cover the frame without crowding.

Light and glow

Clear glass sparkles and throws points of light; frosted glass diffuses it into a soft glow; opaque beads read as colour, with light between the strands. We balance the three on each beaded light shade so it looks finished lit and unlit. Shades are supplied as shades only, without lamp fittings or wiring, made to fit the fitting you specify.

Packing beaded shades

Loose strands tangle in transit, so we pack each shade with its strands secured. Cartons follow your specification, shipped to the port or warehouse you name.

Send the design name or a photo, your colours as a Pantone reference or physical chip, the fitting the shade must suit and the number of shades you plan per colourway. We reply within one business day and return a rough cost sheet before sampling.
