Beaded picture frames: ten designs to develop for your range

Beaded picture frames bring colour and texture to a gift table or a shelf, and each of ours is designed to be made by hand. We have drawn ten beaded photo frame designs, laid out bead by bead from beads we can actually make or buy, and rendered them for buyers to choose from. They are designs available to develop, not stock: you pick a frame, adjust the colours and size, and we sample it for your range. The ten beaded picture frames

Each frame is built around a 4 x 6 in photo and named for its look.

Lily Pond: sea-glass tones in rows round a rippled edge, with two beaded water lilies set at opposite corners.

Toadstool Ridge: a row of speckled toadstools on beaded stems along the top, over a border of flake and pressed glass.

The Big Bow: a beaded bow across the top and colour-blocked loops past the edge, in two colourways: Candy Cane in reds and Icicle in blue, white and clear.

Talisman: eye beads, eye hearts and crackle glass in blues, with an eye-drop fringe along the bottom and a beaded loop to hang it on the wall.

Big Top: squares and triangles in circus red, yellow and blue under a pennant crown, with a scalloped valance edge.

Aurora: crackle, dichroic and sea-glass tones, with clusters of faceted glass starbursts at each corner.

Deco Sunburst: faceted pressed glass and gold seed rows on a dark ground, crowned by a fanned sunburst crest.

Groovy Daisy: a checkerboard of yellow squares, a daisy chain and four big daisies at the corners.

Damson Mosaic: chunky mosaic rows of millefiori, terrazzo and dotted ovals in damson, cream and orange.

Sorbet Double Loop: colour-blocked loops in sorbet shades past the edge, each with a smaller loop inside it.

Groovy Daisy, Damson Mosaic and Lily Pond suit boho ranges; Deco Sunburst and The Big Bow suit gift and seasonal ranges.

How a beaded frame is built

Every bead is wired through a 6 mm core or set on a glued seat, with loops and fringes strung past the edge, and the photo sits behind a glass front on a velvet easel back (Talisman hangs from its beaded loop). Read the full construction in how beaded picture frames are made.

Overall, with loops and motifs: about 6.3 to 8.4 in wide by 9.4 to 10.4 in high

The overall size changes from frame to frame because loops, crowns and fringes reach past the core by different amounts. Every design starts as a 4x6 beaded frame. Other photo sizes can be drawn on request: we redraw the layout for the new core, so bead sizes stay true and the motifs keep their proportions.

Custom beaded picture frames: colour changes

Each bead in a design is a catalogued bead in a stocked size, so a colour change means choosing another colour of the same bead, not inventing one. Where a bead is one we make, in our own glass furnaces or in injection-moulded acrylic, we can also match a colour to a Pantone reference or a physical chip. Tell us your palette and we redraw the frame so you see it before sampling. The Big Bow shows how far a recolour goes: the same layout reads as Candy Cane or as Icicle.

Packing beaded frames

Beaded frames have loops and drops that can catch or chip, and a glass front that needs protecting. We pack each frame so the beadwork is not pressed, and the outer cartons follow your carton specification. We ship to the port or warehouse you name.

From concept to sample

Choose a design, and we redraw it in your colours bead by bead at true size, with a rough cost sheet before anything is made; we confirm the sample time when we quote. Tell us the quantity you have in mind for each design and we say what the bead mix makes practical, replying within one business day.
