Faux capiz wholesale: the shell look, made without shell

Faux capiz wholesale is a growing request from buyers who love the soft, pearly look of a shell beaded curtain but need a product that is simple to import and consistent to reorder. Real capiz shell is subject to wildlife import rules in some markets, which can add paperwork, delays and risk to a shipment. So we make faux capiz: discs that give the shell look from materials that ship like any other home decor.

Faux capiz wholesale: the shell look, made without shell

We develop faux capiz curtains, room dividers and wall pieces to order for retailers, brands, designers and event companies.

How we make faux capiz discs

We currently offer two routes, and they suit different designs.

Cast-to-shape resin: each disc is cast in its final shape, so there is no cutting waste. Resin gives a thicker, weightier disc than cut acrylic.

Dyed cut acrylic: discs are cut from dyed acrylic sheet. They are thinner and lighter than resin discs, and the colour range is wide.

Our sampling so far covers discs from 10 to 30 mm. We recommend a route and a size for each design, and confirm the look on a sample before production.

Why disc weight and diameter matter

A shell-look curtain only works if it hangs well. Very thin discs are light enough to catch on each other, so they tangle and do not hang straight. Heavier and larger discs settle flat and move together, which is what makes a capiz room divider or a portal look calm rather than messy.

That is why we decide the diameter by weight and drape, not just by looks:

Smaller discs suit short pieces, valance edges and accents between beads.

Larger discs suit full-length curtains and room dividers, where the extra weight keeps strands straight. Our 2027 linked-disc designs combine 25 mm and 50 mm discs.

Shell beaded curtain designs we develop

Seashell beaded curtains for coastal ranges, mixing faux capiz discs with glass or acrylic beads.

Capiz room dividers, with dense rows of discs that screen a space while letting light through.

Door portals and wall hangings, where discs form a border or a shaped edge.

Valances with a disc fringe, for windows and doorways.

Tonal designs, where two or three disc colours build a soft gradient.

Discs can be combined with beads along the same strand, which adds weight, spaces the discs out and reduces the number of discs per curtain. How the discs are joined to the strand is agreed at sample.

What drives the price of a faux capiz curtain

Disc route: resin and cut acrylic cost differently, and each suits different sizes.

Disc count: a dense divider can carry far more discs than a spaced curtain.

Bead mix: spacing discs with beads lowers the disc count.

Height: a shorter piece uses fewer discs, so shortening a design is a quick way to bring it to a price.

Packing: discs need protecting against scratching in transit.

We put these on a rough cost sheet before sampling, so you can see which change moves the price most.

Care and packing

Faux capiz discs should be wiped gently, without abrasive cleaners. See how to hang beaded curtains for care. For export we keep strands in order on the rod, protect the discs from rubbing, and pack to your carton specification.

Ordering faux capiz

The minimum for disc-led designs follows the disc route and the disc count, so give us the quantity you are planning.

Good to Know

Questions buyers ask about faux capiz wholesale

Why not use real capiz shell?

Real shell is subject to wildlife import rules in some markets, so we make faux capiz that imports like ordinary home decor.

What are faux capiz discs made of?

Either resin cast to shape or dyed acrylic cut to shape. We recommend one per design.

What size discs do you make?

Our sampling so far covers 10 to 30 mm, and our 2027 linked-disc designs also use 50 mm discs, confirmed on sample. Weight and drape decide the diameter, so larger discs are used on longer pieces.

Will a faux capiz curtain tangle?

Very thin discs can. We choose disc weight and size, and mix in beads where needed, so the strands hang straight.

Can faux capiz discs be coloured?

Yes. Dyed acrylic gives a wide colour range, and we confirm the colour on the sample.
