Glass bead curtains, from our own furnaces

Glass bead curtains are the premium end of the beaded curtain range. Glass is heavy enough to make every strand fall straight, it catches light in a way no other bead does, and it gives a curtain a clear, bright chime when someone walks through. The beads for our glass curtains are made in our own glass furnaces in Firozabad, the glassmaking town of Uttar Pradesh, which lets us control colour, size and finish from the melt onward.

Glass bead curtains, from our own furnaces

We make glass curtains to order for retailers, brands, hotels, restaurants and event companies, and we develop each design on a sample before production.

Why buyers choose glass

Drape: the weight of glass pulls each strand straight, so patterns read cleanly and the curtain settles quickly after movement.

Light: clear and tinted glass refracts light, which is why glass curtains are often hung where sun or lamps fall on them.

Sound: a bright, light chime, more pronounced than acrylic and very different from the soft knock of wood.

Feel: glass is cool and solid in the hand, which customers read as quality.

The trade-offs are weight on the fixing, more care in packing, and a higher bead cost. Our acrylic vs glass beads guide compares them in detail.

Crystal beaded curtains, made with glass

Many buyers ask for crystal beaded curtains. We make the crystal look with cut or faceted glass beads, which throw small points of light around a room. These are glass beads, not crystal, and we recommend describing them as glass in your listings. Crystal beaded curtains for doorways work best where they catch light: a bedroom door opposite a window, a boutique fitting room, a bar entrance or a wedding backdrop.

Specialty glass beads

Because the beads are made in our own furnaces, a glass curtain can carry beads that a stock supplier would not have:

Dotted beads, with raised or flat dots of a second colour.

Venetian-style beads, with swirls and inclusions, used as accents on a plain strand.

Tinted transparent beads in colours matched to a Pantone reference or a chip.

Larger feature beads, which can be annealed for strength.

Specialty beads are made in small runs, so they are usually spaced along a strand as accents rather than used for its full length. That keeps the price sensible while giving the curtain its character.

How a glass curtain is designed

We agree the base bead, the accent beads and their spacing from your reference.

A rough cost sheet shows the effect of bead size and accent density before sampling.

Beads are made first where a new colour or style is needed, then a sample is strung, usually within 16 to 20 days.

Production follows the approved sample, strand by strand, on a wooden dowel or rod.

Because glass is heavy, tell us how the curtain will hang so the design suits the rod or hooks. Spacing accents further apart, or using smaller beads for most of the length, keeps a glass curtain manageable.

Where glass bead curtains sell

Premium home retail and boutique stores.

Hotels, bars and restaurants that want a doorway feature with sparkle.

Bridal and event companies using curtains as backdrops and entrances.

Designers specifying a statement piece for a residential project.

Packing glass for export

Glass travels well when it is packed for it. Strands are kept in order on the rod and protected so beads do not knock against each other in transit, and cartons are built to your specification and your carrier's handling. Tell us how the curtains will be sold and shipped, and we will pack to suit.

Ordering glass bead curtains

Minimums for glass depend on the beads a design needs, so share your intended order quantity and we will advise.
